This summer has brought  several changes to Post 286.  The senior advisor that has headed up Post 286 for the last three years, has decided to change his role within the post.  Steve Herold has single handedly run Post 286 for the past three years.  This is a great accomplishment  considering this position has been traditionally filled by three individuals.

Sergeant Herold has progressed our program from a strict advisor run program to that of youth driven events.  He has contributed many good ideas as well as put in many long hours.  This commitment has taken our post into the twenty-first century.  While being senior advisor Sergeant Herold headed up the donation of our new radios from SC Johnson and Pinkerton Security.  He has gone the extra mile to help the scouts look presentable at our events by purchasing out of his own pocket uniforms for those that can't afford them.  Now Sergeant Herold has worked up the ladder within the Racine Police Department giving the post more and more leverage within the PD.

Sergeant Herold has decided to step into a behind the scenes roll for the post.  His face will still be scene from time to time but be assured he will be working in the back drop.  He will be our main police department contact, and who better to do that than a sergeant who knows all about the post.

Thanks Steve for all your time.
